Singing
Brian Eno talks about how and why singing is good for us. This is on NPR's essay series, "This I Believe". I prefer reading it because you don't have to wade past the commercial or the pretentious NPR stylings. (I like the heart of NPR, and am grateful for it, but the stylings - they've become caricatures of themselves).

Dog
The dog sat
because
it made sense
to do so.
The dog chewed because
it made sense to do
so.
The dog seeks sense.
Make sense to the dog.

Obama Headlines from Around the World
A friend sent me this:
Obama Grabs Headlines.
(The ad at the masthead is just an ad).
The content takes a long time to load because it's a blanket of international newspapers' front pages featuring the Obama win. You can click each image to see the big picture.
I think the rest of the world is really happy we're going to stop being such @$$h01#$ now.

Relief!
We did it!
We have our work cut out for us. That's okay! It's a lot better than living in denial, which totally sucked!
And now a three video essay:
Election Night from the Obama Campaign
The Beatles: Revolution
Love and Happiness, Al Green

Voting Day
I was up before the sun. This is rare unless an airplane is involved. I voted with inka-dot by seven fifteen. I've never seen so many at our neighborhood polling place. I got to work early enough to listen to an entire song in my car and visualize the happy Obama victory, the respectful mccain concession. I work at a university. I walked onto campus and there was a marching band practicing, drums tight and loud. Marie Callendars' people were there giving apple pie to people who had their "I voted" sticker on. I shared my pie with my friend.
