Happy Holidays in Four
Little child has the pots, pans and tupperware
splayed on the kitchen floor
mixing spoon in hand
a rubber scraper to hit the high hat pan lid
balanced on a frying pan
it's louder that way
and the cupboard has more and more to bring out
and my mother is patient
'cause the older kids are all at school.
Ah, to be four!
And the magical secret,
to such comfort and joy,
is to keep playing
evermore!

God Willing
Seems to be the ultimate irony when religion gets in the way of spirituality. The idea of fighting over god is nothing new to point up, but - are we going to knock it off anytime soon?
